Lake Michigan Credit Union promotes marketing’s Glen Goen and community relations’ Matt Cook

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (June 3, 2015) – Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of two key supervisors. Creative Director, Glen Goen, was promoted to Vice President – Creative Director. Director of Community Relations, Matt Cook, was promoted to Assistant Vice President – Community Relations.

Goen earned his B.A from Western Michigan University, with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in Communications. He previously worked for Meijer as a senior corporate communications designer, then later opened his own business, Goen Communications Inc. At LMCU, Goen’s prior positions include marketing manager, marketing director and creative director.

LMCU’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Don Bratt, cites Goen’s length and quality of service. “Glen has been a key contributor to our creative strategy and does an excellent job in guiding LMCU’s branding and creative development and execution. This promotion is a reflection of Glen’s contributions, experience, hard-work and increased responsibilities. We are fortunate to have Glen on our marketing team.

Cook earned his degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, with a double major in marketing and management. He recently earned a MBA from Michigan State University. Cook’s prior experience includes positions as donor relations specialist for Michigan Blood, and ticket sales manager for the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League. Cook was hired at LMCU as Assistant Branch Manager.

In speaking of Cook, Bratt said, “The Community Relations team is a vital component of LMCU’s outreach to the many communities which we have the privilege of serving. Matt has done an outstanding job of directing LMCU’s community relations efforts and in building, strengthening and deepening these relationships. This promotion is a reflection of Matt’s increased level of responsibility.”
