Landmark Credit Union Announces Mergers

New Berlin, WI – Landmark Credit Union is merging with four smaller credit unions, American Credit Union on the South side of Milwaukee, People’s Credit Union in Cudahy, Co-operative Credit Union of Racine and Burlington and Horizon Credit Union of Racine. The target date for all the mergers is December 31, 2011, with the merging of their member accounts into Landmark’s computer system in the first and second quarters of 2012.
American Credit Union is located at 3280 South Clement Avenue in Milwaukee. They currently serve 3,986 members and have accumulated assets of over $22.5 million.
People’s Credit Union is located at 4801 S. Packard Ave. in Cudahy. They serve 1,963 members and have grown to $13.2 million in assets.
Co-operative Credit Union is located at 6219 Washington Avenue in Racine and at 473 Milwaukee Avenue in Burlington. They currently serve 4,450 members and their assets have grown to more than $22 million.
Horizon Credit Union is located at 1931 Grove Ave. in Racine. They serve 3,729 members and have accumulated assets of more than $26.2 million.
Approval by the Office of Credit Unions has been received for the Co-Operative and American mergers and is pending for the Horizon and People’s mergers. Approval votes by their members have been completed at Co-Operative and American, and are pending at Horizon and People’s Credit Unions. All employees of the four credit unions will be offered jobs at Landmark.

Landmark Credit Union is $1.7 billion strong, with 449 employees who serve more than 173,000 member/customers at 20 locations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. The mergers will bring Landmark to $1.8 in assets and 25 locations.
