Lavage honored by Danville Business Alliance

(April 25, 2014) -- The Danville Business Alliance (DBA) awarded Bill Lavage, President/CEO of Service 1st Federal Credit Union, the Thomas E. Beiter Award for distinguished community service.  The award recognizes individuals for their leadership, dedication and distinguished service to the business community in advancing the mission and goals of the DBA.

Lavage worked with the DBA since its inception in 2001.  He served on the DBA Board of Directors for 12 years.  He also served as Chair of the promotions committee as well as serving on the design, economic restructuring and nominating committees.

“I’m humbled by this award.  I love Danville.  Danville has been my home since 1981.  My wife Cindy and I raised our two sons in this great community and they received a great education in the Danville School District,” states Lavage.

Lavages acknowledged the support of his wife Cindy, the Service 1st board of directors, and the DBA board and committee members in receiving his honor.  He noted in addition to the hard work and long hours, he has a lot of fun as well working with the DBA.

Lavage is only the second person to receive this award.
