LCUL announces Daphne Hernandez as 2023 Emerging Leader Award Winner

HARAHAN, LA (August 15, 2023) — The Louisiana Credit Union League (LCUL) presented the 2023 Emerging Leader Award to Daphne Hernandez of OnPath FCU during the League’s Annual Convention on August 4 in New Orleans, LA. The Emerging Leader Program recognizes the achievements of exceptional individuals who consistently dedicate their lives to their credit union movement through development, service, and engagement.

Daphne is recognized for being a key player in leading the implementation of OnPath’s core integrated ITMs throughout their retail footprint as well as overhauling their contact center, achieving a record low abandonment rate and wait time for members. Additionally, OnPath recently became the first Louisiana credit union designated as a Juntos Avanzamos affiliated credit union. “Juntos Avanzamos,” Spanish for Together We Advance, is a national network of 131 credit unions dedicated to serving low-income Hispanic communities. Daphne has played an integral role in their Hispanic outreach initiatives showcasing her understanding of the importance of financial inclusion.

Hernandez was selected from five Emerging Leader finalists who represented the elite among the promising credit union professionals across the state of Louisiana. Industry leaders evaluated all nominees to determine the finalist in the statewide competition. The five finalists received a full scholarship to LCUL’s 2023 convention. As the overall winner, Hernandez receives a full scholarship to the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Emerging Leader School, an educational program designed to help credit union leaders develop effective management techniques.
