Legacy Foundation & Legacy Credit Union donate $13,000 and wagons to Children’s of AL
BIRMINGHAM, AL (August 19, 2016) — The Legacy for Good Foundation partnered with Legacy Community Federal Credit Union for the 3rd Annual Legacy for Children’s initiative, donating $13,750 to Children’s of Alabama, the state’s only freestanding pediatric medical facility. In addition to this year’s donation of $13,750 Legacy Credit Union is also donating 5 wagons for use at Children’s of Alabama.
Over a 25-month span, the combined efforts of the Legacy for Good Foundation and Legacy Credit Union, in conjunction with Co-Op Financial Services Miracle Match Program, raised over $41,000.
To raise these funds, the Legacy for Good Foundation and Legacy Community Federal Credit Union partnered to sell t-shirts at all area branches. In addition, over 100 Legacy employees participated in Casual for a Cause Day to further support the Legacy for Children’s initiative.
Legacy Community Federal Credit Union President & CEO Joe McGee stated, “Legacy Credit Union is proud to partner with the Legacy for Good Foundation in this donation. Children’s of Alabama provides vital services to our community. Like Children’s of Alabama, serving our community is an integral part of Legacy’s mission.” Legacy Credit Union actively participates in numerous community events and their most recent efforts include sponsorship of the soon-to-be-constructed Legacy Pavilion for UAB football, as well as Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
Legacy for Good Foundation Board member Jenna Floore said of the donation, “I am thrilled to be part of a Foundation and Credit Union that support Children’s of Alabama. We were able to donate over $13,000 to assist Children’s in providing exceptional care to children in our state. I was also exciting to donate five wagons; providing something fun for these brave kids to enjoy brought a smile to my face.”
