MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (April 2, 2014) -- Listerhill Credit Union recently announced the winners of its 2014 The Hill scholarship contest.
Graduating high school students and local college students across Alabama and Tennessee were invited to apply at Listerhill.com to win one of three scholarships: $2,500, $1,500, or $1,000. Entrants also had the opportunity to win an iPad Air® if they received the most likes on their original Instagram video.
Thirty-two individuals submitted scholarship applications for the contest, which required a 15-second Instagram video from each applicant describing how they would use their educations to help others. From this field, three exemplary applicants were chosen to receive the scholarships. The winners were: Lucas Witt of Russellville, Elizabeth Hamm of Muscle Shoals, and Meg McGuire of Tuscumbia.
The winner of the iPad Air® was Desiree Kerby, a student at Northwest Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, who received over 7,600 likes on her Instagram video.
