Credit union among the first in Maine to offer mobile loan applications
BANGOR, ME (August 23, 2016) — Maine Savings, one of the state’s largest credit unions, has released an exciting new upgrade to its mobile banking app that enables members to apply for a personal loan, auto loan, or Maine Savings Visa credit card directly from a mobile device.
Traditionally, loan applications were filled out in person during branch hours, a process which can be limiting for many. Many financial institutions, including Maine Savings, introduced online loan applications several years ago. Today, Maine Savings members can apply for a loan from just about anywhere at any time through an iOS or Android-enabled device with the Maine Savings mobile banking app.
“With this newest upgrade to our mobile banking technology, we are able to save members time, effort and paperwork by placing loan solutions in the palm of their hand,” said Maine Savings President and CEO John Reed. “Maine Savings continues to invest in state-of-the-art solutions that meet the modern banking needs of our members.”
Key features of the upgrade include an auto-populate function that eliminates the need to enter basic information, including name, address, telephone number, etc. Instead, most information is pulled directly from the existing membership, so no time is wasted on filling out the application. Also, members can utilize in-app loan calculators to determine a comfortable monthly payment prior to applying.
