Community Choice Credit Union will join credit unions around the world in celebrating International Credit Union Day by offering cider, donuts, giveaways and more at each of their eight member centers across southeast Michigan.
Farmington Hills, MI (October 13, 2014) -- On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, Community Choice Credit Union will join credit unions around the world in celebration of International Credit Union Day, an annual event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements.
This year, Community Choice is honoring International Credit Union Day by throwing a week-long celebration, filled with giving back, supporting the community and building relationships.
“Credit Unions around the world are united through a deep respect and appreciation of the communities we serve,” said Robert Bava, president and CEO of Community Choice Credit Union. “It only seemed natural to celebrate International Credit Union Day by spending the entire week showing our community how much they mean to us.”
It all kicks off on Monday, Oct. 13 as team members spend their Columbus Day holiday making fleece blankets to donate to the Ferndale Warming Center. This annual all-team enrichment day focuses on volunteering and strengthening relationships.
The celebration continues on Tuesday, Oct. 14 as Community Choice Credit Union team members fill locally-owned restaurants to support the community’s small businesses as a part of CU Lunch Local, a national initiative that launched in Michigan three years ago. The company is encouraging both members and non-members alike to join them in supporting local businesses.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2013, the celebration rounds out with International Credit Union Day. Community Choice Credit Union invites its members and the entire community to get together at one of eight member centers in metro Detroit for apple cider, donuts, giveaways and more.
