Local credit union donates $11,000 to high school sports

PLYMOUTH, MN (November 19, 2015) — TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union sponsored the Hot Highlights segment on KARE 11’s Prep Sports program this fall. Keeping with the credit union’s history of supporting education, TruStone Financial donated $1,000 to each winning school’s general athletic fund.

“Our partnership with KARE 11 has given TruStone Financial an opportunity to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of high school athletes throughout Minnesota,” said Chief Business Officer Steve Steen. “On behalf of the credit union, I’d like to congratulate all of this year’s winners.”

KARE 11’s Hot Highlights segment, hosted by evening news co-anchor Randy Shaver, centers on high school football in Minnesota. Each week, Shaver selected three plays from the past week’s games and took it to social media to let fans vote for their favorite. The school whose play received the most votes was named the winner at the end of each week. The players featured in each winning play were invited to a check presentation at their school hosted by TruStone Financial to celebrate their accomplishment.

This year’s winners include:
