Local credit union generates over 600 uplifting letters for local youth on National AIK Day

PENSACOLA, FL (March 26, 2021)

On Thursday, March 18th, 2021 employees of Central Credit Union of Florida volunteered their time writing letters of encouragement for students grades K-5 as part of Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®, a national holiday since 1997 initiated by Camp Fire, an organization supporting the development of youth.

This is the fourth year that Central Credit Union of Florida has participated in the annual event with Camp Fire Gulf Wind, Inc., the local chapter of Camp fire, which provides for over 6,500 letters across six elementary schools in the Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties and now includes 60 youths in Bay County after partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County. 600 of those letters coming from Central Credit Union of Florida.

“Each year we strive to write more letters than the year before, which usually isn’t too difficult because we love to create these letters knowing it will provide a child with encouragement and make them smile. This has been a tough time for children, there have been so many changes and restrictions put on their lives so sending them positive messages and reassuring them that they are cared for is necessary,” states the Credit Union.

Central Credit Union of Florida and the local Camp Fire Gulf Wind, Inc. invite the public to volunteer in this program as anyone can help write these letters for children in our community. The letters can be as simple as a motivating quote with stickers to a full-page message encouraging their spirit to achieve their goals.
