Students from across Southern Nevada were asked to create art that makes them happy, with one winner selected from each grade—from Kindergarten through 12th grade—to be featured in the annual student artwork calendar. The Credit Union receives an average of 2,000 artwork submissions each year for this program.
“In the 38 years of the Happy Times Calendar, we continue to be amazed by the creativity and positivity expressed through art by the youth in our community,” said Scott A. Arkills, President/CEO, Silver State Schools Credit Union. “We are proud to uphold this tradition and showcase the remarkable talents of these young student artists.”
Winning students and teachers will be honored at this year’s Happy Times Calendar Awards Ceremony hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Student winners will receive a $200 cash prize and their original artwork will be framed to commemorate their achievement. The student’s school will also receive $200 in support of its Art program.
