LPL Financial’s annual program leadership conference brings together top bank and credit union program executives

LPL executives share insight and support to help drive institution’s success

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 2, 2015) -- LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, an RIA custodian, and a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Financial Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:LPLA), kicks off its 2015 Institution Services Program Leadership Conference (PLC) today at the Harbor Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. More than 250 bank and credit union program managers and executives are gathering today through Feb. 4 to network with their peers and discuss the challenges and opportunities in today’s financial institution services environment.

The event features informative presentations as well as breakout sessions and roundtable discussions around such important topics as the value of financial institution investment programs, growth, recruitment and risk. Discussions will also be focused around LPL’s program support and resources, including client service enhancements, technology solutions and market research updates.

As part of an increased focus on the importance of diversity in the industry, new at this year PLC is a Women Leaders Breakfast. The invitation-only forum will provide female bank and credit union leaders the opportunity to network and hear from female LPL executives. Recognizing that female clients continue to grow and increase in power as a demographic, the goal of the breakfast is to support female advisors and program managers in ways that are useful and empowering and that will drive ultimately help drive success for both the advisor and the client.

Keynote speaker for the conference is Mark Abrashoff, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of “It’s Your Ship” and two follow up books on leadership principles. Abrashoff developed his leadership lessons while serving as the most junior commanding officer in the Navy’s Pacific Fleet when he led the dramatic turnaround of the USS Benfold, the Navy’s most underperforming ship in the fleet. Abrashoff challenges leaders at all levels to reimagine their leadership thinking and create new ways to elevate individual, team and organizational performance.

LPL will also share with attendees the findings from a co-sponsored study on the value of investment programs in financial institutions. Results from the study, conducted by Kehrer Bielan Research & Consulting, indicate that banks and credit unions are not fully leveraging the opportunity to build institutional loyalty and increase profitability via their existing client relationships.
