LSCU announces Mary Ott Wood as the 2022 Distinguished Service award winner

TALLAHASSEE, FL (June 15, 2023) — The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) is elated to announce that Mary Ott Wood has won the 2022 Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service award recognizes lifelong service to the credit union movement reaching beyond the natural person credit union.

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, LSCU & Affiliates presented its annual Distinguished Service Award at the Opening General Session of the 2023 Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida. The LSCU Awards recognizes credit unions and credit union professionals who have demonstrated exemplary service and accomplished significant achievements in 2022.

“My credit union career has been all about service to others, not recognition,” said Mary Ott Wood, President and CEO of Florida West Coast Credit Union. “I am very humbled and honored to receive this special award.”

“There is no one more deserving of the Distinguished Service Award for 2022 than Mary Ott Wood,” said Patrick La Pine, CEO of LSCU & Affiliates. “Mary has been instrumental in the growth of so many credit union professionals around her, including myself, and I can honestly say I would not be where I am today without her wisdom and guidance. We wish Mary all the best in her upcoming retirement and are honored to present her with this lifetime achievement award.”
