Lynette Smith to join Quantum Governance, L3C as Lead Consultant

Quantum Governance, L3C to expand its team, welcoming renown credit union leader and former CEO Lynette Smith.

Quantum Governance, L3C Co-Founder and CEO Michael Daigneault, Co-Founder Alessandra Daigneault and President of Consulting Services Jennie Boden announce that Lynette Smith has joined the Quantum Governance team as a Lead Consultant. She recently retired as the President/CEO of TruEnergy Federal Credit Union.

“The breadth of experience and unique insight that Lynette brings to our team and clients as a former CEO is tremendous,” said Daigneault. “Having worked extensively with Lynette and observed how adeptly she steered TruEnergy toward governance excellence generated in all of us a strong interest in working with Lynette again. We are honored that Lynette will be working with us and know that our clients will benefit greatly from her expertise.”

Ms. Smith’s passion for excellence and governance, her many years of hard work as a recognized leader in the credit union industry, and her extensive Board service has informed her expertise in governance and strategic planning. “I am excited about the opportunity to join the Quantum Governance Team. As TruEnergy’s President/CEO, we partnered with Quantum Governance and considered them to be a trusted business partner for the past seven years,” Smith said. “With their expert help, we were able to strengthen and enhance the governing relationship of our credit union’s Board and Management Team. From my perspective, effective leadership starts at the top, and I am looking forward to bringing my knowledge and expertise to credit unions and nonprofits across the country now as a part of the Quantum team.”

As a recognized leader in the credit union industry, Ms. Smith was awarded NAFCU’s 2011 CEO of the Year Award for credit unions under $150 million in assets. Prior to serving as TruEnergy’s CEO, she had a long career at Treasury Department Federal Credit Union where she served for 19 years as the Vice President/Finance and Administration, Vice President/CFO, Vice President/COO and Acting CEO.

Ms. Smith is on the Board of the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) and has also served as its Chair. Having served on the AACUC Board for over 10 years and given her contributions to the credit union industry over time, in March 2021 she was inducted into the AACUC Hall of Fame. Ms. Smith is currently on the Board of the Metropolitan Area Management Association and an Honorary Board Advisor on the Credit Union Women’s Leadership Alliance (CUWLA) for women CEOs of credit unions with less than $300 million in assets. Lynette has a BS in Accounting, graduating cum laude from Morgan State University, where she was also the first President of Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society in 1978.

Prior to joining the credit union industry Ms. Smith worked in health care financial administration and was an auditor with Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst & Whinney) in her earlier career.
