Maine Family Federal Credit Union appoints Kaj Johansen as Vice President of Lending

Maine Family Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Kaj Johansen as Vice President of Lending. With more than 25 years of credit union experience, Johansen brings a strong background in lending operations, risk management, and strategic leadership that will further support the credit union’s mission of exceptional member service and long-term financial well-being.

In his new role, Johansen will oversee consumer, mortgage, and lending operations while working collaboratively with the leadership team to advance Maine Family’s strategic goals. His responsibilities include supporting responsible loan growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening lending processes, and developing high-performing teams to enhance the overall member experience.

Throughout his career, Johansen has guided lending and operations teams through periods of growth and change, including the integration of new technologies, process improvements, and organization-wide initiatives. He is known for his collaborative approach, focus on staff development, and ability to balance operational efficiency with a strong, member-first mindset.

Johansen holds a Master of Business Administration from the Southern New Hampshire University and previously served in the United States Navy, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership and operational discipline.
