Maine Savings launches Compass Club: A First-in-Maine, member-exclusive location-aware rewards app
Program gives members discounts and perks at local and national merchants
BANGOR, ME (December 14, 2015) — Today, Maine Savings is proud to announce a free and exciting new way for members to save with the launch of Compass Club, a location-aware rewards app available exclusively to Maine Savings cardholders. The app actively alerts users when they are near a discount.
The first such rewards program and app in Maine, Compass Club provides members with exclusive discounts and perks to about 50 popular retailers and restaurants—most of them local establishments in eastern Maine—through the Compass Club app.

For Maine Savings members, joining Compass Club is easy, and no card information is required. Simply download the Compass Club app to an iOS or Android-enabled device, create a login, and enable location services to take advantage of location-sensitive alerts about nearby perks.
Alerts can be customized to match member preferences, as well, allowing users to turn off individual alerts for perks they are not interested in redeeming. To redeem a Compass Club offer, members need only to pay with their Maine Savings card, including both business and personal, credit and debit cards.
“We wanted to add additional rewards for our members,” said John Reed, President and CEO of Maine Savings. “But having the rewards is only half the battle. Not everyone has the time or energy to plan their day around a list of discounts. But with the Compass Club app, you don’t have to. You can just go about your day and the app alerts you when you are near a perk.”
If members do not have a compatible smart phone, they can still participate. All of the perks can also be accessed through a regular web browser at compassclub.larky.com.
