BANGOR, ME (July 17, 2014) -- Veronica Levesque, AVP of accounting at Maine Savings, recently received the Diane L. Oceretko ‘People Helping People’ Award for Community Service from the Maine Credit Union League at its convention last month.
Levesque, a Maine Savings employee for more than 25 years, is a long serving member of the League’s Social Responsibility Committee and oversees Maine Savings’ efforts to raise funds for the Maine Credit Union League’s Campaign for Ending Hunger. Levesque played an active role in forming “Crafts for Causes”, a group of Maine Savings employees that meets regularly to create crafts sold in their branches to support ending hunger and the Children’s Miracle Network, in addition to other local causes.
“Veronica reflects everything this award embodies,” said David Sayers, Senior Vice President, Finance, Accounting and Operations at Maine Savings. “The enthusiasm and total commitment Veronica shows and her passion for volunteering is truly admirable. She is an instrumental piece to Maine Savings’ philanthropic efforts, helping to lead our support of various local organizations, causes and community members in need.”
Levesque was selected to receive this award due to her active role in community-service and volunteering, as well as her overall efforts to help others in need.
