Make-A-Wish® NH Wish Ambassadors say “Thank You” in the sweetest ways to NH credit unions

New Hampshire Credit Unions, all members of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, Inc. (CCUA), were treated to special sweets/treats and personal expressions of gratitude from Wish children from Make-A-Wish® New Hampshire (Make-A-Wish®) Feb. 13-15. Seventeen Wish children and their families along with Make-A-Wish NH staff visited 12 credit unions throughout New Hampshire to deliver their homemade delicacies, offer personal thanks and share highlights of their wishes, made possible in part by the New Hampshire Credit Unions.

“It is a great day when each credit union has their Sweet Thank You visit. Working with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire is extremely rewarding for credit union staff and members. We love when the kids tell us about their wishes; the memories they share with us symbolize the power of what a wish can do,” remarked Brian Hughes, chair of the New Hampshire Credit Unions Social Responsibility Committee and president/CEO, Holy Rosary Credit Union. “The collaboration of the New Hampshire Credit Unions over the past 21 years truly shows the spirit of community and we are very proud to play a big role in granting wishes for these wonderful kids donating more than $2.5 million for wishes.”

Julie Baron, president/CEO of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire added a message of special thanks as well. “This is one of my favorite weeks of the year as I love having the opportunity to thank the credit unions for their life changing support,” said Baron. “It is so wonderful to watch the faces of the credit union staff as they interact with the Wish Children. Thank you to all the New Hampshire Credit Unions for being amazing”

Wish child Carson, age 6 shared the adventures of his wish, a Disney Cruise, with the staff at Holy Rosary Credit Union in Rochester. His favorite thing was the big slide on the ship. Carson had the “sweetest” gesture during the sweet thank you visits. He brought red roses to Holy Rosary Credit Union on Valentine’s Day. His mom Meghan said, “Carson thought of this all on his own because it’s Valentine’s Day and even wanted to pay for them with his own money as his way of saying thank you.”
