With a goal of increasing the security and privacy of member information and helping feed the neighbors who live in our community, Mill City a Division of City & County Credit Union hosted a Shred Day event and food drive at its Minnetonka Branch on Saturday, April 20.
In exchange for donating non-perishable food and personal care items to Mill City’s drive for Second Harvest Heartland, Mill City provided free shredding of sensitive documents for the community.
In just two short hours, 166 vehicles visited the Shred Day event to shred their sensitive documents and a total of 610 pounds of food was collected for Second Harvest Heartland – providing over 500 meals to families in our community.
“This was the very first time we’ve asked our members attending Shred Day to bring a donation and we were truly blown away at the heartwarming response,” explained Bailey Germain, Community Engagement & Business Development Manager. “We take pride in not only being an advocate for protection against identity theft, but also making a difference in our community at the same time.”
