Mann honored by Cabot Creamery Co-op on behalf of Metro DC area credit union volunteers’ support of Credit Union Miracle Day and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
COLUMBIA, MD (April 19, 2016) — Theresa Mann, Chairman of Credit Union Miracle Day (CUMD) and CEO of The Partnership Federal Credit Union, was honored with the Community Celebrity Award given by Cabot Creamery Co-operative (Cabot) for her many years of volunteering for Credit Union Miracle Day, the title sponsor group of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run®. CUMD has donated over $7.5 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNHs) nationwide through a Family of Races, including the Credit Union SacTown Run in California.
The award was presented at the Cabot farmers’ Volunteer Recognition Party during the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run Health and Fitness Expo held at the National Building Museum on April 2. As a recipient of the Community Celebrity Award, Mann has been invited to attend an Alaskan cruise sponsored by Cabot, Create the Good, and National Cooperative Bank where she will sail with other community celebrities and their guests from around the country recognized for their volunteer service to their communities.
“The Community Celebrity Cruise honors volunteers who are making significant contributions to improve lives and the quality of life in their communities,” said Roberta McDonald, Senior VP of Marketing for Cabot, when presenting the award. “Theresa has the heart and drive it takes to do good for others. Theresa’s volunteer work is being honored but even more significantly, she has inspired so many others in the cooperative community throughout the DC area to volunteer.”
“On behalf of our sponsors and team, I am very pleased to see Theresa receive this award,” said Charlie Mallon, CUMD’s Vice Chair, CU Cherry Blossom Race Committee Chair, and CEO of Congressional FCU. “For 15 contiguous years, she has helped steer this unique collaborative effort, adding her talents to the program and motivating her credit union staff and others to be involved in the cause.”
As a volunteer board member and committee chair, Theresa has spent countless hours over 15 years leading and guiding CUMD as the title sponsor of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run benefitting CMNHs through the national Credit Unions for Kids program. Credit unions are the third largest contributor to CMNHs behind Walmart and Costco.
The Partnership FCU, whose core purpose is to serve people who advance and promote the interests of the public, has over $150 million in assets and serves 12,000 members with the belief that every member deserves value through partnership.
