Market Vice President Noel Sanger selected to join Northwest Arkansas Business Journal class of up and coming leaders

ST. JOSEPH, MI (July 10, 2017) — United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) is proud to announce that Market Vice President Noel Sanger has been named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal‘s 21st Annual Forty Under 40 Class.

The recipients were chosen by the Journal’s editorial staff from more than 100 nominations made by readers. Criteria for selection included business and civic contributions.

According to Sanger’s nomination, “Whether on official business for United Federal Credit Union, or in his personal role as a husband, father and friend, Noel makes it a point to talk about the credit union culture and its values. His life is an example of his belief in those values: honesty, integrity, character and hard work. He believes in what he does, and it translates to success for his staff and members.”

It should come as no surprise that Sanger was nominated by a colleague. His dedication to employee development has been a strongpoint in his career. UFCU was named number one in the Arkansas Business Best Places to Work category in both 2015 and 2016, a designation largely stemming from the results of an employee satisfaction survey, and community involvement. Sanger was also named Boss of the Year by the Fort Smith Jaycees in 2014.

“I thank Northwest Arkansas Business Journal for selecting me and my UFCU team for supporting me,” Sanger said. “My philosophy has always been to incorporate inspiration, advocacy and mentorship into the workplace. I believe when one of us does well, we all do well.”

Sanger is known for his community involvement and leadership. He serves as president of the board of directors of the River Valley Futbol Club, one of the largest youth organizations in the River Valley. He is past president of The First Tee of Fort Smith, former member of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and past chair of the Allocation and Volunteer Committee for United Way.

Sanger created the “Perfect Attendance” program in seven Fort Smith-area schools. The reward program led to an increase in student attendance, and UFCU was named Partner of the Year by Fort Smith schools in 2014.

The River Valley Corporate Challenge, an athletic games competition among local businesses was founded by Sanger in 2015. It has raised more than $45-thousand for the Children’s Emergency Shelter and the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club.

Sanger, along with his fellow designees, will be honored at a luncheon on Aug. 22 at the Embassy Suites in Rogers, Ark. This year’s Forty Under 40 issue of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal will be available on newsstands and online Monday, Aug. 21
