WARMINSTER, PA – (Thursday, December 8, 2011) – Employees of Freedom Credit Union volunteered in the Build Day of Mayfair Memorial Playground, located on Rowland Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. The total reconstructive plans, materials, and human resources were made possible by KaBOOM!, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving play for America’s children, and by Giant Food Stores, a grocery chain with stores throughout the Philadelphia area.

In addition to the three Freedom Credit Union volunteers who helped complete various tasks to complete the revitalization of the playground, Freedom also made a $100 donation directly to Mayfair Memorial Playground.

With a swing set, multiple slides, various climbing areas, and other interactive play stations, the playground was completed in one day by the labor and dedicated time of 250 volunteers from KaBOOM!, Giant Food Stores, and the Mayfair Civic Association, plus other helpful citizens including the employees of Freedom Credit Union. The playground is now a safe, clean space for children to play and explore.
