Mazuma Credit Union appoints new Chief Culture Officer

OVERLAND PARK, KS (September 23, 2016) — Mazuma Credit Union has added a new smiling face to its executive leadership team with the addition of Michelle Wood as Chief Culture Officer. Wood comes to her new role with a wealth of experience, having spent more than 16 years in the credit union industry and most recently leading a talent and organizational development team at CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

Wood will keep Mazuma’s “Bank Happy” culture healthy, enduring, productive and, most importantly, fun. She will be responsible for leadership coaching, overseeing internal communications and delivering engaging development and training programs. Needless to say, she’ll be busy, but Mazuma is beyond happy to have her on board.

“Michelle brings with her years of experience being a champion for organizational health and culture through a variety of roles,” said Mazuma President/CEO Brandon Michaels. “Mazuma is primed for incredible growth, and Michelle will help our vision become a reality by fostering an enduring, high-performing and fun culture.”

Wood, a certified leadership coach, holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas and has experience in developing and leading cultural initiatives as well as integrating cultural components among diverse groups. In other words, she’s the perfect fit.

“I am thrilled to serve our Mazuma members, our team members and our broader community as Chief Culture Officer,” said Wood. “Mazuma takes a unique and innovative approach to banking, and I look forward to helping foster an environment where all Mazumans continue to work cohesively to make Kansas City a better place to live, work and bank.”
