MCUL launches new podcast featuring industry leaders

Friday Five with Dave Adams hosts colleagues to share insights and experiences

LANSING, MI (August 19, 2020) — The Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) recently launched Friday Five with Dave Adams, a weekly podcast and video series hosted by the League’s CEO. Each episode, Adams invites a leader in the industry to answer five questions covering the credit union movement, their professional journey within it and what it means to be a strong leader.

“The current pandemic and its socially distanced environment has forced us all to feel less connected in many ways,” said Adams. “But it has also pushed us to think of creative ways to address that challenge. We’re excited to launch this series in order to have conversations with our industry leaders, hearing their unique perspectives and insights on not only our current circumstances, but where they’ve come from and where they want to go in the future.”

The first episode, with Cheryl DeBoer, CEO of Advia Credit Union, covered the meaning of the not-for-profit credit union difference, taking care of your members during a pandemic and transitioning a large workforce to remote work. The episode is available as a video or MP3.

On the second episode, Adams talked with April Clobes, president/CEO of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, about mentoring tomorrow’s leaders, achieving transparency with boards and members and the distinct social mission of a university-based credit union. The episode is available via video or MP3.

The third episode of the series will be available Fri., Aug. 21 and features Dan Baines, CEO of Bloom Credit Union.

The purpose of this series is to generate fun and informative conversations that allow the Michigan credit union movement to get to know each other better and to circulate great ideas from our industry’s top thinkers.

A new episode of Friday Five with Dave Adams is released each Friday.
