Abound Credit Union’s financial education program was recently completed by 33 fifth graders at Ekron Elementary School.
“Meade County Schools is proud to partner with Abound in educating our students on fundamental financial topics. A recent study showed that 40% of U.S. households could not withstand an unexpected $400 expense. We must ensure our students have the money management skills they need to build healthier financial futures,” says Travis Scott, Principal of Ekron Elementary.
Abound’s Financial Education Program leverages interactive and game-based learning to immerse students in real-life financial scenarios that focus on skill building and responsible decision making. This gamified resource features an engaging storyline, diverse cast of characters, and interactions & activities to teach students fundamental financial topics in a fun and engaging way.
The Ekron Elementary fifth graders completed five Abound financial education modules with concentrations in both financial concepts and social-emotional learning skills that build toward better financial health.
