ROANOKE, VA (March 13, 2017) — Member One FCU believes in improving the overall quality of life in the communities they serve, specifically by helping people achieve their financial goals. The leadership at Member One supports this philosophy by volunteering their time at local organizations that are also working to improve the community.
Recently, three representatives of the Member One executive team accepted local board of directors’ appointments at area nonprofit organizations.
Frank Carter, President and Chief Executive Officer at the credit union, was appointed to the Mill Mountain Theatre’s board of directors. Carter, who has been leading the credit union for nine years, is an avid supporter of the arts and realizes the significant role the arts play in the community.
“A thriving art scene is not a luxury, it is vital to the economic and cultural performance of the city,” Carter said.
Tim Rowe, who is the Chief Risk Officer and has been with the credit union for 31 years, accepted a board position with the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy. Recognizing that land conservation and environmental health are critical to the overall well-being of a community, Rowe saw an important connection to the organization’s mission.
“Member One, just like any business, has a responsibility to healthy and sustainable environmental practices —practices that support and complement our regional economic growth,” said Rowe.
Finally, Kim Braswell, Chief Administrative Officer, will serve on the board of Downtown Roanoke, Inc. starting in July 2017. Braswell, who has also been with Member One for nine years, appreciates the impact that Downtown Roanoke, Inc. has on the businesses and organizations it serves.
