Members 1st Federal Credit Union chairman of the board named NAFCU Volunteer of the Year

Central PA native Jon Kirssin recognized for service

MECHANICSBURG, PA (August 21, 2023) — Members 1st Federal Credit Union, a full-service financial institution serving members and communities for over 73 years, is pleased to announce that its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Jon Kirssin, was selected as Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU). Kirssin and other honorees of NAFCU’s 2023 annual awards competition will be honored during the Association’s Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C. September 10-13, 2023. 

“Jon’s dedicated efforts are reflected in the continued success of our credit union through his demonstration of thoughtful leadership skills as well as the development of new ideas that are beneficial to our organization’s growth,” said Members 1st President & CEO Mike Wilson. “This award reflects his exemplary services on behalf of our members, associates and communities.”

The NAFCU Awards Committee is proud of their contributions to the success and strength of the industry. “

This year’s NAFCU annual awards competition honored eight winners in total who were selected by a committee of credit union leaders. Nominees for CEO of the Year, Credit Union of the Year, Professional of the Year and Volunteer of the Year were judged in two categories: credit unions with assets of more than $500 million and those with assets of $500 million or less. Kirssin was named a winner among credit unions with more than $500 million in assets. 

In addition to being formally recognized during Congressional Caucus, the annual awards competition winners will be profiled in the September/October issue of The NAFCU Journal.
