Members 1st Federal Credit Union hosts 26th annual Charity Golf Classic
Over $155K raised to support four central PA and eastern PA non-profit organizations
MECHANICSBURG, PA (June 8, 2023) — Members 1st Federal Credit Union held its 26th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, June 5, at the Hershey Country Club in Derry Township, PA. More than 140 golfers and 70 sponsors raised over $155K to support and promote the noble work of programs and initiatives across Central Pennsylvania. This year’s beneficiaries included Aaron’s Acres (serving Berks, Dauphin and Lancaster counties), Lehigh Valley Health Network (serving 10 eastern PA counties), Midwest Food Bank (serving several counties across the midstate) and The Salvation Army – Harrisburg (serving Dauphin County).
“The Members 1st Annual Charity Golf Classic allows us to give back to the communities that serve us,” President & CEO George Nahodil said. “Our ‘people helping people’ philosophy continues to be at the core of everything we do for our members, our associates and our communities. This annual event is just one way we carry out our commitment to service through meaningful action. Thanks to the help of our community partners and associates, we were able to host another successful fundraiser to support great causes happening across our nine-county footprint.”
Representatives from each beneficiary attended a luncheon and check presentation following the outing and thanked the credit union for continuously giving back to the communities it serves, including organizations that are dedicated to helping change lives.
Each beneficiary that received funds works graciously to benefit individuals across central and eastern PA. Aaron’s Acres provides year-round therapeutic-based recreational activities for children and adults between the ages of five and 21 with special needs. Lehigh Valley Health Network offers advanced and compassionate health care supported by education and clinical research. Midwest Food Bank aims to alleviate hunger and malnutrition as well as provide disaster relief. The Salvation Army – Harrisburg provides workforce development, nutrition education programs, emergency disaster services and more.
