Metro East Chapter Hosts Home Buying Seminars

In the month of November, the Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions hosted a couple of Home Buying Seminars for credit union members. Two locations were selected to provide greater convenience for those wishing to attend this free event. The first seminar took place on November 8th at E&A Credit Union in Port Huron and the second was held November 9th at the Warren Community Center. The seminars were co-sponsored by Mortgage Center, Greenpath, and CU Realty.

A total of sixty credit union members attended the event in which they gained valuable information on buying a home in today’s market. During the seminar, members were able to learn more about their credit score and how it can affect their ability to purchase a new home as well as ways to improve their score. They were also given guidance on how to qualify for a new mortgage as well as how to budget for a down payment. Finally, members learned about the pros and cons of buying in today’s real estate market. Nine credit unions from the Metro East Chapter also participated in the event. Credit Unions provided staff so that members had the opportunity to speak with someone from their own credit union.
