Miami students participate in South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union’s Summer Internship Program

MIAMI, FL (August 5, 2015) — South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union (SFEFCU) hosted 15 high school seniors from several Miami Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) as part of its Summer Internship Program.  Students from Career and Technical Education Programs were selected to work in the Credit Union’s headquarters and branches.

The Summer Internship Program provides interns a real-life working experience.  Students work for five weeks in Accounting, Branch and Lobby Services, Human Resources, Marketing and Information Technology departments.  As part of the program students perform departmental tasks and also complete weekly assignments related to skills learned on the job.

Since 2007, the South Florida Educational FCU has hosted over 100 high school interns, and served as a launching pad for their careers.  “We are proud to work with M-DCPS and shaping the lives of our interns,” expressed Michael DiBenedetto, Credit Union President and CEO.
