Miccayla Gallardo of Minnequa Works Credit Union earns esteemed Credit Union Development Educator designation

PUEBLO, CO (March 25, 2024) — Miccayla Gallardo, an impactful Lending & Service Specialist at Minnequa Works Credit Union, has successfully completed the prestigious Credit Union Development Education (DE) Program with the National Credit Union Foundation. This accomplishment underscores Miccayla’s commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills in the credit union industry to better serve our members and community.

The DE Program is an intensive training initiative designed to align the impact and outputs of credit unions with the mission of improving financial well-being for all. Throughout the program, participants delve into top-level learning areas, including:

Understanding the Credit Union Difference: Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively communicate and leverage the unique business model and cooperative principles of credit unions.

Empathy & Emotional Intelligence in Banking: Recognizing the importance of empathy and emotional intelligence, Miccayla has developed skills to create a competitive advantage in today’s disrupted market.

Development Issues: By identifying and addressing challenges that hinder financial health, Miccayla is able to be equipped and support Minnequa Works Credit Union to contribute to the overall well-being of our employees, members, and community of Southern Colorado.

As a graduate of the DE Program, Miccayla Gallardo has earned the esteemed Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE™) designation. This designation signifies her deep understanding of how credit unions can leverage cooperative principles to overcome development issues and foster financial health.

In reflecting on her experience, Miccayla remarked, “Trust the process.” The DE Program is both challenging and rewarding, helping to strengthen the commitment that credit union teams have for the Members and communities served.  Minnequa Works is proud of Miccayla’s achievements in graduating from the DE program and are confident that the enhanced knowledge and skills will further enhance helping members through their financial lives.
