Michigan State University Federal Credit Union to host Peckham’s Art from the Heart Exhibit

EAST LANSING, MI (March 13, 2014) — MSU Federal Credit Union will partner with the Peckham Community Partnership Foundation to host the 2014 Art from the Heart exhibit. The Art from the Heart program provides professional, individualized instruction in the visual arts to people with significant disabilities and other barriers to employment. Members, the community, and media representatives are welcome to visit and view the exhibit beginning Tuesday, March 11, 2014. The artwork will be on display at MSUFCU's headquarters, located at 3777 West Road in East Lansing through Friday, April 11, 2014.

The Art from the Heart exhibit will feature contemporary and traditional art created by Peckham's team members, who are individuals that face physical, cognitive, behavioral and social-economic challenges. The featured artists will have the opportunity to display their pieces as an exhibition of the new skills and abilities learned during their visual arts instruction through the program. Members and the community are welcome to visit MSUFCU's headquarters during normal business hours to view the exhibit, and art works may be purchased through the close of the exhibition.
“MSUFCU is proud to sponsor the Art from the Heart exhibit this year and invest in a program that has a positive impact on the community by allowing access to enriching experiences through arts education, and services," said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer. "This partnership allows us to provide a space for participants to share their artwork, and we are pleased to share in the celebration year after year."

Art from the Heart is funded by the Peckham Community Partnership Foundation. The Foundation is committed to services that help Peckham fulfill its mission, and supporting the initiatives and programs that can make a difference in the lives of those striving for independence. Peckham is a nonprofit community vocational rehabilitation organization that provides job training and placement for persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. MSUFCU helps support Peckham's programs via financial education and its involvements in events such as Art from the Heart.
