KINGSTON, NY- Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) Board Member, Frank Jankowski, announced his retirement after 14 years of serving on the credit union’s Board of Directors. Frank began working at the IBM Kingston Plant in 1980 and was appointed to the credit committee in 1986.

At that time of Frank’s appointment, the credit union was known as the IBM Kingston Employees Credit Union. Now as the community chartered, Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, the credit union has grown steadily to over $700 million in assets, over 58,000 members and 11 branch locations. Frank has had a large influence in advancing the credit union to where it is today.

Frank’s volunteer career at MHV includes serving on the Supervisory Committee in 1993. Shortly after, he was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1997 and elected Secretary in 2006.

Reflecting on his career at the credit union Frank stated, “I am amazed at how far we have come since the early days at IBM. With IBM’s influence we always were open minded to new ideas and innovations and which continues to be an influence on how we make decisions.”

Of Frank, Bill Spearman, President & CEO of MHV states, “Frank has a dedication and passion for the industry that shines through when you talk to him. It is only through the persistence and nurturing of volunteers like Frank, that the credit union movement still stands strong on its roots which continue to guide growth today.”

As of his retirement date of November 30, 2011, Frank remains a resident of Kingston, with his wife Peggy, and will continue to play a role at the credit union as Direct Emeritus.
