MidUSA Credit Union and River Valley Credit Union campaigns garner big wins

MarketMatch, Inc., a full-service, digital-forward marketing agency specializing in community bank and credit union marketing, has won CUNA Diamond Awards for campaigns on behalf of River Valley Credit Union and MidUSA Credit Union.

The awards were presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprising over 1,200 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 35 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond. There was a total of 1,278 entries in the 2021 Diamond Award competition.

A long-standing MarketMatch client, MidUSA Credit Union, is headquartered in Middletown, Ohio. The $210M credit union operates in a market saturated by nearly 75 financial institutions ranging from larger national banks, regional banks, and other credit unions. In a push to acquire new members, MarketMatch created the award-winning Test Drive Campaign.

“In an effort to drive new membership, we focused on countering the usual obstacles to getting customers to switch—time/effort and no guarantee of better outcome—by offering a “test drive” of MidUSA membership with a Service and Value Guarantee, switch kit, and up to $150 for giving us a try,” explains Bruce Clapp, president of MarketMatch. The campaign brought new relevance to MidUSA and introduced the credit union to a new, broader audience of potential members, resulting in nearly 90 new memberships.

MarketMatch also took home a CUNA Diamond Award for River Valley Credit Union’s combined brand refresh and brand awareness campaign. “We often have clients who have a well-established, positive brand presence in their markets. Sometimes, the brand needs just a few updates to make it more relevant and noticeable in the marketplace. As we did with River Valley Credit Union, we executed a brand refresh,” said Aaron Gregerson, MarketMatch’s chief digital officer. River Valley’s brand awareness campaign was the first major campaign to showcase the new look, including email marketing, social media posts, social media advertisements, digital advertisements, and an updated website.
