Fairborn, Ohio – Wright-Patt Credit Union’s Tim Mislansky was honored with the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center Marie Kindrick Community Volunteer Award at a ceremony held April 5th at the Sinclair Conference Center. The award recognizes individuals in the community who, like her, worked for the rights of those who are under-represented in the Miami Valley. Mislansky received the award because of his dedication to providing fair housing for residents of our community. The Miami Valley Fair Housing Center also recognizes a Community Professional and a REALTOR® with this great honor.
With the help of a dedicated team, Tim Mislansky, Chief Lending Officer of Wright-Patt Credit Union has worked hard to expand homeownership opportunities for homebuyers in the Greater Dayton Area, collaborating with several local non-profit and city organizations, as well as designing mortgage programs that put affordable homeownership within reach. When others have refused a helping hand, Tim has approved mortgage refinancing for some of the toughest cases, including people who were victims of predatory lending and those on the path to foreclosure. His support has helped many families in times of financial crisis.
Tim said, “I am honored and thankful for this wonderful recognition, but it would not have been possible without the great support of my co-workers at Wright-Patt Credit Union and the remarkable community organizations the Miami Valley is blessed to have. As a leading community lender, Wright-Patt Credit Union constantly strives to make our area a better place to live and work.”
Tim is an active member of the Prime Alliance Advisory Council. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton and serves as Treasurer for Dayton Habitat for Humanity. In 2011, he was named as one of the Forty Under 40 by the Dayton Business Journal, and is a former member of the Filene Research Institute’s i3 program. Tim has nearly 20 years of credit union experience and is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has been with Wright-Patt Credit Union since 2001.
About the award
Marie Kindrick was a remarkable woman who for nearly sixty years was committed to working for the rights of those who are under-represented. Born into a wealthy New England family, Kindrick defied convention and expectations and made her life a testament to the kind of work that is honored with these awards. As a REALTOR® in our community, she was a volunteer tutor for the DABR Partners in Education at Ruskin School and taught English as a second language in Kettering Schools. She served on DABR’s Equal Opportunity Committee from 1992 until her untimely passing in May 1998. Each year we pay tribute to Marie Kindrick and honor her for the inspiration to work for fairness and equity for everyone by honoring a Community Professional, a Community Volunteer, and a REALTOR®.
