Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union announced a new partnership with My First Nest Egg, a family-first financial literacy program designed to help children build strong money habits early. The collaboration expands M1FCU’s commitment to serving its members and community by providing engaging, age-appropriate tools that make financial learning simple—at home, in classrooms, and throughout the communities it serves.
Rooted in the belief that financial confidence begins in childhood, Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union is introducing a fully branded, co-hosted version of the My First Nest Egg platform. Families will gain access to interactive lessons, printable activities, chore and allowance tools, and goal-setting challenges designed to help children ages 3–13 learn foundational money skills in ways that are practical, consistent, and fun.
“At Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union, we are committed to helping members build strong financial futures at every stage of life,” said Leslie Ramirez, CEO. “Partnering with My First Nest Egg allows us to introduce financial literacy to our youngest members in a fun and meaningful way, helping them develop smart money habits that can last a lifetime.”
Guided by its philosophy, “Where Members Come First,” Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative dedicated to providing personalized financial services and empowering members to achieve financial well-being. This partnership reinforces that mission by extending financial education beyond traditional banking services and into everyday family life—helping build stronger financial foundations for future generations.
Co-founded by two mothers and former attorneys, Nicolle Hood and Annie Shoen, My First Nest Egg was created to address the lack of engaging, age-appropriate financial education resources for children. The program transforms complex money concepts into bite-sized, psychology-backed learning experiences designed for kids ages 3–13.
“At My First Nest Egg, we believe financial education works best when it’s part of everyday life—at home, in schools, and in the community,” said Nicolle Hood, Co-Founder & CEO of My First Nest Egg. “Modesto’s First Federal Credit Union’s commitment to putting members first and investing in their community makes this partnership especially meaningful. Together, we’re equipping families with simple, practical tools that help children build confidence and lifelong financial habits.”
