Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union to cut ribbon marking completion of Rockville branch renovation project
Credit union upgrades original branch to better serve members
GERMAN TOWN, MD (October 12, 2016) — Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union (MC EFCU), a Montgomery County, Md.-based full-service financial institution, will mark the completion of renovations to its Rockville branch with a grand “re-opening” on Tuesday, October 25, complete with a ribbon-cutting celebration at 10 a.m., door prizes and giveaways throughout the day, for those coming into the branch, located at 20 Courthouse Square, Suite 101, Rockville.
Among those on hand to cut the ribbon will be Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, Rockville Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Michelle Day, MC EFCU President & CEO Jim Norris, and MC EFCU Board Chair Melvin Tull.
“Rockville is our original branch and we are so excited to have completed this beautiful modernization, so we can better serve our members with state-of-the-art facilities and a welcoming, customer service environment,” said Norris. “We think our members are going to love the new look and operation of the branch, and we look forward to welcoming them.”
As part of the Rockville branch renovation, the traditional teller station wall has been replaced by new, open space “service pods,” which are essentially full service, secure transaction desks. Members who have frequented the Germantown branch will be familiar with the use of the service pods, as opposed to the traditional teller stations. Also, a new coin counter has been installed in the branch, which is available for use by members at no charge. Other new features at the branch include a welcome desk, a coffee bar. As always, the branch offers bilingual staff for Spanish speakers, and convenient, garage parking, which is free for members and prospective members.
MC EFCU’s project team for the renovation included Marlany Gomez, Rockville Branch Supervisor; Gregg Zolkiewicz, Chief Operations Officer; and Teresa Morillo, Sales and Service Director. The construction was handled by Morgan-Keller Specialty Contracts.
