Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union surpasses $100 million in loans

GERMAN TOWN, MD (December 13, 2017) — Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union (MC EFCU), a full-service financial institution, recently surpassed $100 million in loans, marking a milestone in the credit union’s history. MC EFCU, which primarily serves Montgomery County government employees, along with members from a variety of other local businesses, has enjoyed substantial and continued growth over the past decade. The credit union’s loans doubled in volume from 2012 to 2017, with a large upswing in loan growth taking place afer 2014.

“We’re excited to reach such a signifcant milestone, as it really validates the many eforts we have been making to ensure our members are served well by our lending products,” said Jim Norris, MC EFCU CEO. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and we have plans for the addition of more value-added services in the months ahead.”

MC EFCU attributes its growth primarily to the quality of its staff members and their commitment to providing exceptional member service, as well as staying competitive on loan rates with other financial institutions in the area. MC EFCU has made increasing member awareness of all lending products, along with enabling members to more conveniently and easily apply for loans, a key focus in recent years.
