More credit unions Join CU24 in first half of year

TALLAHASSEE, FL (June 24, 2015) — Nineteen credit unions have joined CU24 in just the last six months, representing more than a quarter of a million credit union members. “More and more credit unions are starting to see the advantages of CU24,” said Joe Woods, VP of Sales and Relationship Management at the Tallahassee, FL based CUSO.

The new CU24 participants include ACIPCO FCU, Birmingham, AL; United Educational Credit Union, of Battle Creek, MI; Electric Service Credit Union, of Nashville, TN; Lufkin Credit Union of Lufkin, TX; and WV Central Credit Union, Parkersburg, WV; Heartland Credit Union, of Springfield, IL; Cooperative Teachers Federal Credit Union, of Tyler, TX; Landmark Credit Union of Danville, IL; Kalsee Credit Union of Kalamazoo, MI; Timberline Federal Credit Union, Crossett, AR; Honor Credit Union, of Saint Joseph, MI; Thiokol-Elkton, of Elkton, MD; WSSC Federal Credit Union of Laurel, MD; Sno Falls Credit Union, Snoqualmie, WA; Policemen’s Federal Credit Union, of South Bend, IN; St. Thomas Federal Credit Union, of Nashville, TN; Artesian City Federal Credit Union of Albany, GA; Sorg Bay Federal Credit Union of Middletown, OH, and MCT Credit Union of Port Neches, TX.

These credit unions can now provide their members with access to thousands of surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, thousands of deposit-taking ATMs, and the convenience of access to the nation’s largest credit union-owned ATM and POS network.

“Our main goal was to increase our number of surcharge-free ATMs available for our members,” said Michael Tucker, CEO of West Virginia Central Credit Union. “By joining the CU24 network we have significantly accomplished this goal and our members will now have greater access to their accounts.” West Virginia Central Credit Union has more than $140 million in assets and serves more than 16,000 members in the communities of Parkersburg, Vienna, Huntington, and Beckley.

“Members are demanding more convenient ways to access their funds without incurring a fee. Thanks to the partnership with CU24 our members will have access to over 29,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide,” Thomas P. Lex, President/CEO of Heartland Credit Union. Heartland Credit Union has more than $255 million in assets and serves more than 27,000 members in Springfield, Illinois.

CU24 serves more than 500 credit unions, with a particular emphasis on making sure that small to mid-size credit unions have the services they need to compete in a challenging financial services industry. The company’s products include ATMCinch, a highly cost effective ATM management solution; Pocket2Pocket, an innovative real-time P2P payment service; and CU24 University, an online training facility to address the compliance and operational training needs of credit unions.  And as CU24 seeks to meet the competitive needs of credit unions, more is to come, according to the company’s management.

“As word of the advantages of CU24 continues to spread, more credit unions are recognizing that CU24 understands their competitive challenges and gives them the tools to compete. In part, the value comes from knowing that, in CU24, credit unions have a trusted CUSO that not only understands credit union philosophy, but also lives by it. But the value also comes from providing credit unions with access to the country’s largest credit union owned POS and ATM network. CU24 lives the credit union philosophy of trustworthy cooperation, and delivers solid value,” said Mansel Guerry, President and CEO.
