MSUFCU announces new vice president of branches – Illinois

Jean Theis has been announced as the first Vice President of Branches – Illinois for MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU).

“We are excited for Jean to return to MSUFCU, where she started her professional career as a marketing specialist,” said Lea Ammerman, Chief Operating Officer. “Her main focus will be on the execution of the Credit Union’s strategy and business plan in Illinois, including representation in community initiatives, financial education programs, and outreach efforts.”

Theis has years of experience working in and with credit unions. Her most recent role was Chief Relationship Officer at HomeAdvantage. Before that, Theis was the Chief Operating Officer at Consumers Credit Union as the result of a merger with Andigo Credit Union. Prior to the merger, she held progressive roles/responsibilities at Motorola Employees Credit Union/Andigo Credit Union for more than 20 years.

Through her previous roles, she has experience in merger integrations, which will be helpful as MSUFCU works to complete the acquisition of Algonquin State Bank and McHenry Savings Bank branches in Illinois. Theis also will oversee the five new MSUFCU branches planned for Chicago later this year.

“I enjoy being part of building strategy and thrive on new challenges,” said Theis. “My background includes leadership roles spanning all aspects of a financial institution, including marketing, member experience, community relations, deposit operations, training, and branches, so this role is an ideal fit.”

Theis grew up in mid-Michigan and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Central Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
