MSUFCU Desk Drawer Fund raffle Q3 winner receives $12,340

EAST LANSING, MI (September 5, 2023) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) and the Desk Drawer Fund Foundation are excited to announce the winner of the Q3 2023 Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffle. On Friday, Aug. 25, Desk Drawer Fund Vice Chair Elliott Daniels drew the winning ticket, announcing Yamil Torres as the latest raffle winner. Torres received $12,340 as the raffle prize.

“I’ve been purchasing Desk Drawer Fund Raffle tickets since December, hoping for the chance to win,” Torres said. “I am excited to have won and plan to use the funds toward a new house.”

Throughout the year, MSUFCU and Oakland University Credit Union members have a chance to win up to $20,000 in the quarterly Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffles when they purchase raffle tickets at any Credit Union branch. The third-quarter raffle saw 1,234 tickets sold, raising a total of $24,680. With a portion of the funds going to one lucky winner each quarter, the other half of the funds raised are donated back to the communities the Foundation and the Credit Unions serve. In 2022, the Desk Drawer Fund donated more than $487,000 to philanthropic causes and organizations.

“The Desk Drawer Fund, the Credit Union’s foundation, supports and strengthens local arts, youth programs, financial education, entrepreneurial organizations, and stable housing in our communities,” said April Clobes, President/CEO at MSUFCU. “By purchasing a $20 raffle ticket, Credit Union members become a difference maker in our community and help us lead the initiative to make a positive impact for the people and places we care deeply about. This raffle is an opportunity for us to raise funds for the Foundation while also giving one lucky Credit Union member an opportunity to win and give back each quarter.”

Members will have another chance to win when fourth-quarter raffle tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 30.
