MSUFCU hosts Student Art Exhibition for 12th consecutive year

EAST LANSING, MI (January 29, 2019) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to host the 12th Annual MSUFCU Student Art Exhibition at its Headquarters. From January 23 through February 28, the artwork from 19 Lansing-area high schools will be available for viewing. Community members can vote for their favorite art pieces through February 28.

“Through this annual event, local high school students can showcase their artwork in art gallery setting and receive recognition for their work,” said Deidre Davis, MSUFCU’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Community members have the opportunity to stop by and view the students’ outstanding artwork and vote for their favorites, engaging both the artists and the viewing public in this exhibit.”

The Credit Union’s Headquarters is located at 3777 West Road in East Lansing and the Exhibit will be open from January 23 through February 28 in the lobby of the headquarters between 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The exhibition will feature art from some of the area’s best budding high school artists, including paintings, sketches, 3D pieces, photography and art. These students represent 9th through 12th grade and reflect a broad range of artistic media. Each of the schools participating have chosen up to 10 of their most promising and creative student art pieces to highlight talent and their art programs.

Winners will be determined based on votes from a juried panel, public voting, and social media. Three artists with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Awards. Additional awards include: juried awards, determined by a panel of judges; social media award, provided to the student who posts his or her art on MSUFCU’s Art Exhibit Facebook page and garners the most likes; and school spirit award, given to the school that receives the highest total votes from both the website and in person. Votes will be tallied at the end of February to determine the People’s Choice and School Spirit awards.
