MSUFCU named #1 on 2014 Top Workplaces List

Wins Detroit Free Press Top Workplace in the large-employer category

EAST LANSING, MI (September 23, 2014) -- MSU Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that it has been named the #1 employer in the large-employer category in the 2014 Top Workplaces list by the Detroit Free Press. MSUFCU will be honored at the 2014 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces breakfast on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Shriners Silver Garden Event Center in Southfield, MI.

MSUFCU was selected through employee surveys, measuring qualities such as company leadership, communication, career opportunities, working environment, managerial skills, pay, and benefits. The Detroit Free Press has selected Top Workplaces winners since 2006. Since MSUFCU began competing in 2011, it has been recognized on the Top Workplaces list in 2011, 2012, and 2013. However, this is the first time that MSUFCU has been listed as number one.

“We’re thrilled to be named as the top workplace in Michigan,” said Patrick McPharlin, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “Employee satisfaction is integral to the success of the Credit Union, as it allows us to provide superior service to our members. This award shows that we are truly dedicated to our employees and our culture of inclusion and diversity in the workplace.”

MSU Federal Credit Union, the world’s largest university-based credit union, offers a full range of personal — and business-related financial services to Michigan State University and Oakland University faculty, staff, students, alumni association members, and their families worldwide in addition to a variety of select employee groups. Founded in 1937 by a few MSU professors and employees, MSUFCU now has thirteen branches, over 191,000 members, more than $2.7 billion in assets, and over 600 employees.
