East Lansing, MI…At the Michigan Credit Union League Annual Meeting, Patrick McPharlin, President /CEO and the vice presidents of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union accepted the MCUL Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Award. MSUFCU was recognized for its financial strength and stability, the level of give-back back to its membership as evidenced by its low-cost loans, high payment of dividends, the high level of service provided members, its work toward financial literacy for the community and its members, showing dedication and support to MSUFCU employees, and for its many contributions to the local communities and University.
“This award belongs to its members who have placed their trust in us as their financial institution. They continue to utilize more of our services and remain members for a lifetime of service. We have used our resources as one of the largest credit unions to deliver to each member personalized financial service by answering our members’ unique and individual needs.
Our one-on-one relationship with our members is valued. Communication Arts Credit Union received this award last year. We admire their personal service and dedication. It is a special compliment to be named Outstanding Credit Union in the year following them.
MSUFCU’s management team, board and employees are dedicated to our mission—‘to provide superior service while assisting members and employees to achieve financial security, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams.’ Helping our members achieve their dreams is what credit unions are really about.” reflected Pat McPharlin when asked about his feelings regarding the award.
The MSU Federal Credit Union, founded in 1937 by a handful of University employees of what was then the Michigan State Agricultural College, has grown to be the world’s largest university-based credit union serving the MSU Community with a full-range of personal and business accounts. MSU Federal Credit Union offers a sophisticated online transaction service and more surcharge-free ATMs in the local area than any other institution. It has $1.89 billion in assets and 154,000 worldwide members.
