MSUFCU opens first branch in Jackson County
JACKSON, MICH (March 13, 2024) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) celebrated the opening of its first branch in Jackson County with an event today for community members and partners.
Located at 1800 N. Wisner St. in Jackson, the site is the former location of Gabriels Community Credit Union, which recently merged with MSUFCU. This location will allow the Credit Union to extend financial products, services, and education to a new community.
The event included remarks by April Clobes, MSUFCU President and CEO; Allison Horn, MSUFCU Vice President of Executive Communication and Legislative Affairs; Greg Deppong, MSUFCU Board of Directors Chair; Arianna Ridderbusch, MSUFCU Vice President of Community Impact; Eboné Young, United Way of South Central Michigan – Jackson County Senior Community Impact Associate; Ryan Tarrant, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO; and City of Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney.
“Our 5,000-plus members in Jackson County and more than 10,000 members within a 30-mile radius have eagerly awaited the opening of this branch,” stated Clobes. “At MSUFCU, our commitment has always been to meet our members where they are, and this new branch is a testament to that dedication. We’re excited to better serve our existing members in the area and the members joining us from Gabriels Community Credit Union.”
Leading up to and following the event’s formal remarks, attendees enjoyed food and refreshments from local businesses MyBakery and The Kilted Farmers. MyBakery is a nonprofit, trauma-informed, youth-centered business that provides employment skills, business education, and baking trade training for youth residing at MyPlace in Jackson or those at risk for exploitation. The Kilted Farmers use locally sourced ingredients to create veggie pastas.
Additionally, a $5,000 donation was made to the United Way of South Central Michigan – Jackson County, which mobilizes people, organizations, and funds to create a community rich in opportunities to eliminate poverty and allow all people to achieve financial stability and success.

The opening of MSUFCU’s inaugural branch in Jackson County symbolizes not only a significant expansion of its service footprint but also a reaffirmation of its core mission to empower individuals and families to achieve their financial goals and dreams.
