MSUFCU selects local organization as 2016 charity partner
Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center to benefit from fundraising
EAST LANSING, MI (February 4, 2016) — MSUFCU is pleased to announce that its employees have selected Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center (Small Talk) as their 2016 charity partner. As the charity partner, Small Talk will benefit from MSUFCU employee fundraising and volunteer involvement.
Small Talk is a place where children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse are interviewed and offered therapy at no cost. The mission of Small Talk is to provide a comfortable, child-friendly atmosphere where children receive coordinated services during the child abuse investigative process. Small Talk, accredited with the National Children’s Alliance, is leading the community in addressing child abuse and empowering children to have the courage to heal.
“Small Talk is extremely thankful for the opportunity to partner with the employees of MSUFCU in the fight against child abuse in our community. We stand together in support of these brave children as they speak the truth, receive justice, and begin to heal,” said Annie Harrison, Board President of Small Talk.
“We are inspired by Small Talk’s mission and success, and we are proud to work alongside their organization this year in helping children’s voices be heard,” said April Clobes, MSUFCU’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Small Talk is one of my heroes because the organization works every day to bring positive outcomes for children during their most difficult time.”
