MSUFCU’s Clobes receives Detroit Free Press Leadership Award
EAST LANSING, MI (October 13, 2016) — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) is pleased to announce the selection of April Clobes, its President/CEO, as the recipient of the 2016 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces Leadership Award.
The Top Workplaces program recognizes leading organizations with best practices that show the highest commitment to their employees and work environment. To be considered, organizations must participate in an employee survey measuring experiences and feelings toward working there and complete a comprehensive report describing the organization’s demographics, culture, and programs. Additionally, the Top Workplaces program recognizes top CEOs and their performance through the eyes of their employees. To be selected, the Detroit Free Press reviews employee comments regarding executive communication, vision, and leadership qualities.
“April is a passionate leader who truly lives the mission of the Credit Union by helping members and employees achieve their goals and dreams,” said Bill Beekman, MSUFCU’s Chairman of the Board. “The fact that employees recognize her commitment to creating a positive environment in the workplace and the community speaks volumes about her exceptional leadership.”
Clobes commented, “I am honored to be recognized by our employees. This award is a reflection of the entire organization’s commitment to our culture of creating a positive work environment with a focus on serving our members.”
MSUFCU has been named on Top Workplaces lists for the past five years, and was ranked number one in the large-employer category in 2014. The official rankings for the 2016 winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 15, at the Top Workplaces Awards ceremony at the Detroit Marriott in Troy, where Clobes will serve as the keynote speaker.
