MyUSA partners with Zogo to offer financial literacy app to young adults

MyUSA Credit Union has entered into a partnership with Zogo, a leading financial technology company, to bring Zogo's app to everyone in the Greater Miami Valley community. The app, which was developed by a group of Duke University students, guides teens, as well as adults, through 800+ bite-sized financial educational modules. All Zogo's content meets the national standards for financial literacy. As users successfully answer questions, they will accumulate points that they can redeem for gift cards and other rewards.

“At MyUSA, we’re focused on building the strongest communities possible through financial education and helping Ohioans achieve more. The earlier we can teach teens and young adults about money management, the better,” says Jim Miles, President & CEO of MyUSA Credit Union. “We’re thrilled to offer this app at no cost to everyone in the Greater Miami Valley community, making the financial literacy journey more accessible and enjoyable with games and real-life rewards.”
84% of teens say they look to their parents for information about money, according to a study by Junior Achievement. However, T Rowe Price’s 11th Annual Parents, Kids, and Money Survey found that nearly half of parents said they miss opportunities to talk to their kids about money. And a quarter said they are very reluctant to discuss financial topics with their kids. However, the same report found that 3 out of 4 parents think financial apps are a good way to teach about financial matters.
"Growing up, we didn't have good experiences learning finance" added Bolin Li, CEO, and co-founder of Zogo. "With Zogo, we wanted to create a financial education experience our peers would actually use. We are excited to partner with MyUSA Credit Union to bring this vision to life."
The Zogo app is now available to Greater Miami Valley residents through MyUSA at no cost on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Stores. Zogo’s gamified financial literacy app has gained almost 500,000 users who have completed over 15 million of the app’s bite-sized lessons in personal finance. As users progress through the app, they earn points — in the form of virtual pineapples — that can be redeemed for real-life rewards such as Starbucks, Amazon, and Walmart gift cards.
