NAFCU statement on Todd Harper being sworn into NCUA Board

WASHINGTON, DC (April 9, 2019) — The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) President and CEO Dan Berger issued the following statement in response to Todd Harper being sworn into office today as a NCUA Board member:

“Todd Harper has a strong understanding of credit union issues,” said Berger. “We look forward to working with him, new board Chair Rodney Hood and board member J. Mark McWatters as they tackle important industry issues.”

Earlier today, Hood was sworn in and named NCUA Board Chairman by President Donald Trump.

Harper previously served as the director of public and congressional affairs and chief policy advisor to the chairman at the NCUA. He fills a six-year term that expires in 2021; this board seat was previously held by former NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz, who left the board in April 2016.
