Nassau Financial supports local soup kitchen to help fight hunger and homelessness

In the spirit “People helping People” Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union donated $1,800 to sponsor and serve lunch at the Mary Brennan INN, a local soup kitchen. Twenty credit union employees also worked at the INN for the day, completing much-needed tasks including food and clothing intake, stocking shelves in the clothing store and food pantry, and serving lunch to over 250 guests. The INN serves the local community with a hot meal at noon every day, in addition to providing clothing, food and other supplies to those in need.

“The Mary Brennan INN is an organization that positively makes a huge difference in the community and has really impacted us on more than just a personal level today,” said John T. DeCelle, President and CEO of Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union. “We are delighted to partner with such an amazing organization to give back to the community and help those in need,“ he said.  “Normally we know that people want to help, but they may not have the time to do it,“ said Cynthia Sucich, Director of Corporate & Community Relations of the Mary Brennan INN as she conducted a tour of the INN. “But when their employer allows them to come down, volunteer, and have that experience, I guarantee that your life will change forever, you’ll never be able to be the same again,” she said.
